- I would like to have the 4wd, because I will use it. whether it be at the track or going snowboarding.

- I like the way lowered trucks look and I am more into performance than I am into wheelin'.

Sure it will affect the drive agles, but so will a lift. Its not like Im slamming it, it will be about the same hieght as a 2wd with a 2/4.

My current drop setup:

-2" shackles
-2" lift blocks removed and 2wd U-bolts
- Loosened the torsion bars and trimmed the bumpstops

I will probably be going with some hagars for the rear and spindles up front, along with a tie rod flip kit.
I want to lower my 4 X 4 like you did. 2 inches up front and 4 inches in the back.

I have a few questions. How did it affect the ride ? Does loosening up the torsion bars change the front wheel alinement?
Would it be simpler to use a 4 inch shackle, instead of removing the 2 inch lift blocks?

People may think I'm nuts for lowering a 4X4, but I'm not going to be 4 wheeling this thing, this is my first brand new truck and I won't thrash it.

The reason I got a 4 wheel drive is to launch my boat from the shoreline

and for low range when backing the boat up my steep driveway.

I want to lower it cause it looks cool, makes it easier to reach in and get tools in and out of the bed, and my 80 year old mom can get in without much trouble.

I dont think they offer a 4'' shackle, and the leaf angle would be nuts.

Just buy some belltech 6400 drop shackles $40, and go to your dealership and get 4 factory 2wd u-bolts $50

Yes it affects the alignment, but that is cheap too, $50 approx.

You will have to trim the rear bumpstops, and you should trim the fronts too.

Here is a link to an article that I based mine off of..http://gmhightechperformance.com/tec...uck/index.html

They autocross that truck so yes, it does affect the ride, but in a good way!

I took 6 turns ot of the torsion bar adjustment bolt, and lowered the front 1 1/2 inches.

What is the best way to lower the front another 2 inches?

I put in Belltech 3 inch lowering shackle. The bolts will be here next week and I will take out the 2 inch block in back.

I really like the lower stance. Easier to put things in the bed, less wear on the seats getting in and out of the truck. Seems to handle a little better.

Will I have to get shorter shocks?
