Default 2 / 4 drop clearnace issues (pic)

I just installed (yesterday) a 2 / 4 drop on my 00 GMC and there is only like 1 1/4" between my 1" bumpstop and the axle. On my 95 I hhad twice that with the stock bumbstops. D I ahve any options other than a c-notch?

As far as I know, you have to take the stops off. You can get pancake bumpstops from Western Chassis.

Ok, thats the way it is. Take the big bumps easy! Especially if you went with shackles/hangers. Maybe invest in some good drop shocks. If you end up bottoming out alot the notch really is the only way out IMO.

Alwhite, I had the same problem and bottomed out EVERYWHERE! I installed some caltracs traction bars (bought them from blownchevy) and with them preloaded it stiffed up the rear end perfectly and i dont bottom out anymore. you may want to try that or you can get a cnotch kit too. good luck.

Wow, are you sure thats a 2/4 drop? It looks closer to a 4/6. That truck looks low but really good though.

i guess it is because it is an extended cab and mabye the extra weight. my truck has about 2" but it is a single cab.

Jsmith: isnt that something how all the extended cabs always look lower i think it is because the are longer.

It must be the length that is throwing me off. His truck just seems to look lower than a 2/4 drop. Like I said though, it looks good!

Yea, It's a 2/4 - I remeasured it and it's right on the money. Glad you guys think it looks lower though. lol
I guess I'm leaning towards a notch but was hoping for some magic "cure" for the problem.

Alwhite, did you use those lowered control arms that you made? If so, how are they working out. Do you have any alignment issues?
