Default '06 Hoods

Will the '06 hoods bolt up to '03-'05 models? I think they look sick with a nice billet girlle. Looks like the grill and lights are pretty similar.

To do that conversion you also need an 06 grill.

Agree, the 05HD hoods and the 06 hoods look nice. But I think the Grill shouldnt be an issue, not 100% sure though. I should clear out because the 01HD hoods never affected the grills it was a direct bolt-on. That's what im thinking with the 06's. The only major difference I see is the larger U-shape part of the grill dips more on the bottom bumber pad. Where the 03's have a smaller U-shape and doesnt dip down on the bumper bad. The top part of the both grills seem the have the same clearance and the HD hood should rest dead even with the samller grill but maybe if someone knows for sure will chime in. That's IMO!!

that's what i thought. the 01 HD hoods bolted up to the half ton trucks w/o any prob. so i'm pretty sure it's the same for the new ones but getting one is probably not worth the price or the time to try and find a pull-off, paint, etc.

the grille and the hood have to go together. but yea the 05HD and 06all is a GREAT improvement over the 03-05s.

If you look at the front bottom ridge of the hood below you'll see that the center section has a raised notch at the grille. Compare that to the flat bottom of the HD hood in the pic that is posted above Does look good tho

Wow if thats how the 03s looked when I bought my 02 I would have went that route instead. The NBS (03 and up) just took too long to grow on me.

definately didnt care too much for the 03-05's but the new 05's even though its not that big of a change its enough to make it look better. IMO.
