Here's what I found on GM-Truck.com about the 20" wheel debacle:

That explanation makes a heck of a lot more sense. GM should have already learned their lesson with regard to safety recalls with the Monte Carlo (and vicariously through Ford with the Pinto)...i.e., juries will (rightfully IMHO) award grossly exaggerated awards to parties injured as a result of a manufacturer playing the "cost of recall vs. cost of wrongful death lawsuits" game. Good to see this issue doesn't really appear to be safety related. Funny how most people would look at 20" wheel issue and think that the trucks were underengineered, when in fact the opposite seems to be the case. I'm assuming that's the same "gm-tech" guy who used to post over at pacific-audio, in which case I'd think the information quite credible.

 

that 20 inch wheel thing sucks ! can someone give me an estimate how much everyting would be with rims and tires an d bumpers and everything?
