You just want to removet he chrome? Don't think it will remove separately. As just the chrome piece isn't hanging off on mine, it'st he whole center strip.

I recieved a copy of what the insurance is paying for each damaged item. I checked them online. Where they figured aftermarket, they figured to be cheaper. The prices listed are accurate. If all components were figured using OEM parts the estimate would be higher. Of course, the body shop is going to get them a little cheaper and make some money. The front bumper going on is also used.

They also figured $45 an hour for body work and $60 an hour for mechanical work.

Note, the estimate didn't include repair of the popped tire or window blown off track.

This is being repaired at the most reputable body shop in the county. I trust I will be pleased when I get it back. I talked with the shop owner about what I wanted on the truck, only $200 or $300 will be coming out of my pocket.

Hit yourself a deer and damage the same components. See if it doesn't add up correctly. I know it doesn't look like much, but there's lots of little things in there that need replaced.

Runnels county. West Central Texas... bunch of little towns around here. Nearest "city" would be Abilene, then San Angelo.

That's actually what I meant, so maybe you could remove it for painting the plastic shell...

I looked around a while after I hit it, couldn't even find the thing. Found it the next day when I went back to get the truck... it had managed to get about 100 yards backwards down the hiway from the location I had hit it. It was already all swollen up darnit!
