Default WOW...my stock 5.3 sierra won against an audi TT. The driver must of really sucked!!

[So, one thing I've always done, no matter how dimm my chances are of winning, when a person clearly wants to drag, I drag off of a red light just to test other cars powers. I don't usually end up going high over the limit.

But last night, this drag made me laugh my *** off and the driver saw it too. I spotted the guy way in front of me in a brand new Audi TT screeching his tires at red lights and eventually raced with a BMX x5. The x5 lost pretty hard and pulled back. That’s when I met the guy in the TT to go for it. He started reving his engine like a tool.

So here he is with a brand new Audi TT, an expensive car built for speed and performance.
Here I am with a stock 2002 sierra with a 5.3, an engine with 212 000km’s. One tire size too small for the truck and one side of my manifolds detaching from the engine (soon to repair with lpp LT’s).

So we go for it, i put my trcuk in TOW mode, we both lightly screech our tires and he pulls ahead. He gains the advantage off the line with his light car and slicks. Of course having a nearly 7000lb monster is at a disadvantage right away with the rear being so light and having standard tires. I can’t even bring the pedal halfway down or my tires start to slip. So for the first second and a half I’m about halfway down the pedal, then pull full throttle, at that point he’s about ¾ of a car ahead, but I pull out ahead of him fast when I floor it, I see him shifting like crazy as his front end keeps bouncing, I keep pulling out ahead till we reach about 80km/hour. Then he starts catching up slowly. At about 120km/hr he lets go just as his front end creeps to the length of my front tire. I was about to myself, limit was 80, if caught going 50km/hr over the limit in this city, it’s considered street racing, you get fined 10 000$, they take your vehicles away and crush them. The race probably lasted like 10-12 seconds or something like that.

So at the next red light, I’m just laughing my *** off at my stupid victory that was quite unexpected. He looks at me looking PISSED! I expect him to drag again, but this time with his loud-*** music off and not reving his engine, I wasn’t too sure if he’d go for it and didn’t want to look stupid taking off like an idiot. So I let him pull ahead, he no longer wants to race, lol. So I went ahead, passed him slowly, and for the remainder of the trip to my night shift, he stayed in the same lane way behind me.

Now, we all know that a damned audi TT is faster than a 2002 Sierra 5.3. But… man… why would you bother having a fast car and not know how to drive it. I learned to drag race the week I got my Camarao with a 383 stroker. I constantly got better by practicing.
So whose the most pathetic… a guy who can’t afford a decent car and learns how to properly drag with a Hyundai or something or the idiot who just buys a nice car and shows off to everyone by screeching his tire like a Porsche (or a TT) and loses to that person because he just plain sucks. Or even then again, a person who loses HARD to that idiot, like the guy in the BMW x5 before me who burned the hell out of his tires. lol.

Clearly exaggerating the weight. Just trying to prove my point that it's a brick not made for acceleration. And yes i know, curb weight 6000lb.

and i thought my 5,000lbs was heavy! man am i lucky...... mine is light! It must be the 22's and the stereo that makes it lighter cause i got rid of the stock wheels and the jack under my seat to make room for the box and 10's haha!

Good win against an audi tt!

Nah, never bothered to have it gross/net weighed. I just go by curb weight and brake weight I see on specs. I use it as a tool and as a daily commute. I don't sink money for aftermarket racing into it like most people here so... there's no point in my case. I USUALLY carry around a few large tools chests, if anything I prefer it as i go off-road quite a bit. Keeps traction on the rear wheels. As parts need replacement, I tend to purchase upgrades for off-roading.

Depending on if its a RCSB or ECSB, you're looking at anywhere between 4200-4800 lbs depending on options/4x4/tool boxes.

The most I'd expect any 1/2 ton chevy to weigh would be 5200 (excluding quadrasteer trucks)

I think this should maybe be in the Street Racing section, but I was entertained nonetheless. I'm not gonna call bullshit, there are some dumbass drivers out there. Screeching tires doesn't mean fast car or good driver. Where are you? I'm guessing Ontario. Good job having fun with the work truck.
