Default Turbocharged PT Cruser?

Anyone know if you can put a turbocharger on a PT Cruser? I was getting on the freeway this morning and this PT Cruser was next to me, and was trying to out run me. I was like WTF? I thought myself, I'll just gun it and blow past him. Well I did that, and I was pulling away, but the little guy was still on my tail. Damn, I didn't think you could put a turbo on one of those. He must of had something under that hood!

well as you know there is no front mount turbo kit for the gm trucks but there are turbo'd gm trucks runnin around

you can turbo anything if you have the initiative and skills

it could have also been nitrous'd

ive never heard of one though

there is, and im pretty sure they are twin turbos, but don't quot me on that. There are a couple of pt cruisers running around here that are pretty quick....so i guess they probably have turbos in them.

I know there are PT Cruisers w/ turbos.I think they have something like 200hp.I'm almost possitive it's a very down tuned SRT-4 motor.Although it could be a turbo 2.0.

That I didn't know.I thought it was strictly 1 version of a turbo and that was a 2.0.

The PT turbo comes with the 2.4 turbo, the SRT-4 engine.

There are turbo PT's for sure. They're PT Cruiser GT's and they've been available for years now. The original was the same as the SRT-4 engine as far as I know, but came only in convertible PT's. It's rated at 230hp(and 180), about the same as the former SRT-4 NEON. Later, it was added to the hardtop version. They do use a 180hp version too, mated to a 4spd automatic. The 2 higher hp models get either the 5spd manual trans or the "AutoStick" transmisison. Like the SRT-4 and upcoming 2008 Caliber SRT-4, all are single turbos.
