Default Turbo GMC Vrs 2 Built Ford Lightnings

Well, I wanted to race a modded lighting, so I made a post on my local forums. Ended up at the guys house and 3 lightnings were there, all built engines and fun stuff. This was not a GM fan based house. These guys were not going to let me go home a winner lol, the one lightning is the top grudge guy here in charleston, like the top dog of 40 cars. He mainly wins races from dig style runs though. He just ran me because I told him there was no way my 5speed could clear the gears cleanly. I know his only posted time online he ran 97mph in the 1/8.

Anyways, I won my first race again built silver one, he was running 15psi on the stock ported blower and all supporting mods. Instead of moving next in line, I go lined up against the fastest one some how, said to be running 17psi on a whipple. No brake boosting killed me, but either way the blue is one fast ride. Both guys were real cool though, and my truck stayed together on the stock 4.8 @ 15psi so I was alright with the night.

I dyno this weekend, might make a few more HP and try the race again with a brake boost assist for the go. Races were from 50-120.

That looked bad for the L, running a whipple with 2 more pounds of boost, 30 more cubes and you stopped his pull once spooled up. Sounds like you got a badass little truck there, Im interested to see how it runs when brake boosted and with a few more ponies. Maybe throw a meth kit on there for a few more degrees of timing?

The headgaskets and bolts should be just fine, might as well push it, you can get low mile 4.8s for less than 500 bucks

500 + cost of new turbo when pieces of the piston get lodged in the compressor wheel

You can buy a whole new MP70 for 600 bucks I seriously doubt a new exhaust wheel costs that much, besides the fact that money people have blown their engines with turbos and not messed up a thing. Regardless of all that it was just more of a comment to encourage him to beat that L.

Why dont you go pull your dash again and do something productive

Lol thanks guys, after searching some I found a video of the blue truck at the track, posted by him on his lightning forum (www.lightningrodder.com) Shes no slouch by any means.

I think I did ok...=P but you know I want to make it closer next time.
