Default Titan goes down like the titanic

Good morning.
On the way to work today, I notice a titan driving aggressively down the freeway ahead of me. I have been waiting for this opportunity for a while! I speed up to get a shot at him and he notices and begins driving 90 through traffic while I'm still a block behind. The road is pretty curvy and traffic is kinda thick, so I maintain my distance until he has to slow down a bit.

So I'm about 1 1/2 lengths behind him, we're going 60 waiting for an opening on this 4 lane racetrack. He gets a little room and floors it, then I do. We are racing through traffic, (sketchy). 70, he's not gaining at all, 80 I am gaining on him, 90 I'm closing in, 100 I'm too close to him, 110 I'm on his bumper, soon after we hit the brakes hard due to traffic.

He wouldn't even look over at me as I passed him a little later.

What a great drive to work!

Info somewhere says they do a 14.2 1/4 mi. Must be the 2wd. My truck can't be that fast.

I saw a Titan 2WD KingCab at Gainesville a few months ago. It had a K&N and he wasn't telling more. He did say no other mods were done, but he also claimed he hauled a 15,000 trailer with it everyday and the thing didn't have a hitch ball, let alone the gooseneck/fifthwheel mount it would need for that so...

I was impressed with it really, at 15.197, which he told me was his best pass ever. I was watching because I wasn't sure it would get close and it didn't on any other pass I saw. 14.2's while all original.... Maybe on a downhill slope with a tailwind. I'd expect a speed limiter in them to kick in around 112mph too, while stock. Not much chance they'll just run off from a 4.8 or up GM 1500. And with a mod or two, I'd think it's over pretty easily in favor of the GM.

Default stats

I found this,
It looks more reasonable.
The guy I raced had a 4x4 extended (king?) cab.

top speed on a titan forum says 114mph

****, format won't stick,
15.98 @ 88.3mph

They won't do 14.2 stock...more likely to be around 15.2-15.5. A few dipping into the high 14's with CAI and exhaust and good cool weather.

A CC LE 4x4 is the heaviest of the Titan models. LE is fully loaded, leather, power everything. The XE (base model) King Cab 4X2 is approximately 500lbs lighter according to the Nissan website.

Also they have the big tow edition with lower gears, and they can turn the timing up 2 degrees at the stealership.

Titan's have some great gearing in them, which makes them quite quick 0-60, however they lose a little above that, but still good for a low 15 second 1/4mile stock, which can match and beat a stock hemi in many instances.

Titans have crap gearing. 3.36 is the best you can go with the offroad or towing package. 2.94 is the std gearing, I think. The power doesn't come on until 3200 rpm or so. It's the 5 spd auto that's making the difference (OK so yeah, you can count that as gearing but I was referring to the rear alone).
To date I think mine was the only one to run a 15.1 bone stock. Most are running 15.4-15.8 here in Houston in stock trim.

the head, umm thats pretty slow for stock. there have been high 14's stock if they are a RCSB 2WD your time is good if you have a 4x4 but slow if you have a 2wd but then again weather makes a big diff. my 2WD QC ran a better time than your truck when i was stock
