Subaru Impreza WRX

Saw a Blue 03-05 Subaru impreza wrx cruising around town when I was there last (about a week ago) i decided what the hell, all the local ricers say hes the fastest of the bunch So I figured I would try and play with him. We messed around town a little bit but couldn't get a good run in. I followed him outside of town and everytime I would ease up on him So I could ask if he wanted to go off the line he would speed off and throw on the flashers. I finally got next to him and asked him and he agreed. The subaru was a lighter blue, with the little hood scoop and wing on the rear, nice car. We went out of town on a road where theres no traffiic and lined them up. I had two people with me, one guy is 250+ and he has his girlfriend with him. We agreed on three honks. On the third honk were off! I launched in 4wd @ 2500 and got him off the line pretty good, he was at my back bumper. When I shifted out of 4wd into 2wd my truck spun a little a at the top of first and chirped second, so he gained a little ground back then but not much. By 75 or so I had pulled a half a car on him. Once my truck shifted into 3rd he slowly started pulling on me, by 100 when we shut down he was back at my back bumper. We did this twice with the same result. That car sounded pretty badass too. We ended up pulling over and bsing a little bit, he was a pretty cool guy, he was shocked that a big heavy truck like mine ran so good. He told me everybody he has raced he has taken off the line, he couldn't believe how hard my truck launched. I asked him what all he had done and he just said a few minor things, didnt really go into detail. 4wd launch's get a little squirrly with torque steer, anybody have a remidy to this problem? I need to shift out of 4wd a little later as well so I dont spin. I know you cant lock the crappy 8.25 diff or it will blow up. Anyway, I figured I would share a good kill with you guys.

A 4wd launch is going to be squirrly when you have your torsion bars cranked up- you lost most of the suspension down travel, so when the weight shifts to the rear, you go severely positive camber.

Nah I didn't ask him, I figured that was standard ricer procedure. Don't wanna mess with that.
His car was pretty quick. Kinda sucks now though, I bet all the other ricers aren't gonna wanna play now. I did crank my torsion bars to clear my 285's when I had them on here, I will try de-cranking them a bit and see if it helps, thanks explorer5.0 I usually launch in 4wd when I race somebody so anything that will help I will try!

I'm willing to bet a 100 dollar bill you can take them. I know if they can barely pull me on the top end you will walk them with that turbo. I guess the one I raced was the STI? I know it wasn't the wagon.

Googled "street race flashers"
Definitely a nice job taking down a WRX. I never hear WRX and the word SLOW used in the same sentence unless referring to the OTHER car in the race.
