Me and my buddy were goin to New Orleans to drop off some Oil samples and pick up some test equipment, got the idea we would go to the back woods track in Prentiss, MS Saturday night.
I had finished my ice box and had a bunch of lil things to work out when we got off work. Well his TA has street tires, his cousin has some Hoosiers on his camaro SS that has a busted transmission.
We went to his house and got to grinding on his calipers to get the 15" prostar? rims to fit. 3 hours later we got them on and and made sure they didnt scrub.
His cousin has a 81 Monte Carlo with a stout lil 355. just like we always do, we had to go run them and see how it they compared.
With the slicks on the 99 TA (Yank 3600, PS LTs, SLP lid, stock 2.73s haha, and tuned by me) Cleaned the slicks off real quick and pulled up beside the Monte Carlo.
the MonteCarlo got the jump while we are tryin to hook in the TA. once it hooked we were reeling in the MC sligtly, he was about 3-4 cars out front.
I heard this horrific pop and saw sparks start flying out from under the MC, i started yelling stop, stop, stop haha Andy slamed on brakes super hard.
The front half of the driveshaft came out from under the MC and flew about 30' from us while we are tryin to stop.
Sparks are flying everywhere and its making the most horrific sound ive ever heard. We turn around to go see what actually almost hit us and found part of the driveshaft in the road.
Got back to his cousin's house and he was sittin in his driveway, we were doin about 100 when the DS broke and he coasted almost a mile into his driveway. Looked over the TA and didnt see any damage. Hooked the 4wheeler to the MC and pulled it to the shop, the trans tunnel is beat death and the exhaust is smashed shut on both sides.
Weird thing is the trans yoke was still in the trans, we never figured it out. but the bellhousing was busted. loosened the trans mount and let the transmission down
then we unbolted the bell housing and torque converter

think the trans locked up? or busted the front ujoint? or the DS just broke in the middle from wobble?
anyway, he didnt get to go to the track but we took the TA. 75 dry shot
worked wonders with the 3600 stall and slicks. Video uploading, please wait.

I ran against the TA a few times, I got the jump on 6# and 50 shot but it didnt take him long to come around me and put a length on me. he sprayed it out of the hole and it held..
I tried to leave the line on 8#, it spun, as soon as it hooked i sprayed it.. Felt good, but didnt get a dang time slip.
