That would actually result in him getting beat most likely. It takes more to get those big tires moving. I know my 4.8 from a 20-30 roll is pretty stout.

I would think that outlaw would be right about the dig but I have raced him from a dig before with no tune with the same tires and everything and we were neck and neck.

Wieght, gears, and tire size. If you had the same gear ratio to tire size as he did or alittle lower, it would be a better race letting your power over come the wieght disadvantage.

What mods would it take to be able to beat him in that situation? Besides new tires for weight reduction. Would LT's be enough or would I need more? Maybe a stall?

Gears or stall would work.

Lowest gears he could have stock is 4.10s. So 4.56s would be equal with your tires. But if he has 3.73s it would be 4.10s. I'd probably go 4.56s just in case latter you wanted to run 33s or 35s. A higher stall is really only going to help you from a stop out of the hole. I'd try gears first. I felt LT headers at top end more. So if he catches and starts pulling you after the hole shot then headers.

Your 4x4 might also have 3.42's. If both trucks have the same gears, his lower HP, will still overcome the power-to-weight ratio better than yours.
