definetly nothing to brag about, and if you were doing 80 and punched it you didn't go into 2nd, but 3rd gear.

If it were a saturn ion redline then we would give you more props but for racing something thats slow in the 1st place and doing it in a stupid manner. Will get you no props at all, but more of an *** chewing by some people on here.

Sorry I felt like yelling at someone too. I've had a long day at the shop.

no hard feelings. just next time, think about the people who are around you, when your wanting to race.

I've seen worse. I was catching up with a guy in a truck just like mine to see if he'd like to race and we came up on a construction zone with about 3 cars and a semi in front of us. we get through the construction (heading uphill) and he starts to pass the slew of vehicles. I was thinking WTF?? almost immediately as he topped the hill and could get over there was oncoming traffic. If he would have been about 1 or 2 seconds slower he'd been kissing the windshield of a F-150.

my truck kicked down into third??

huh?

with the 323's and 20's, along with the raised shift points....my truck shifts the 2-3 at 87-88 mph, and i was thinking the 2-3 shift meant that i was shifting from 2nd to 3rd? maybe i cant count but...1,2,3,....

yeah, it downshifted into second, then went to third about 87-88, and stayed there the duration of the run til about 4.3k-4.5k rpm.

wow, if i figured on all the pissing contests and criticism, i would never have posted this. i think lots of folks have shown immaturity through criticism of my actions, along with myself.

i'm over it, i try and be safe MOST of the time.....and i will continue to drive the way that suits me.
No more interstate racing for me.

My truck has 3.73 gears and will hit 2nd at 75mph with 3.23's I'm sure 80 wouldn't be that big of a deal. It all depends where your shift point is set.

yeah, i just hate when folks know my truck's shift point automatically, yet have never ridden in/driven it.

i shift 1-2 at 5850, 2-3 at 5950, and stock setting thereafter....and it goes in 3rd around 87-88 mph... i would run the 1-2 shiftpoint up, but the stock tranny scares me to shift it high on the 1-2 shift....as that is the hardest it shifts...the 2-3 is a more docile shift, so i am not that scared to rev it to that...i took a lot of torque management off, but left the upshift torque reduction turned on.....hoping to get a little life out of the stock tranny...and still get a nice holeshot. my 60ft. times stay around 2.1-2.2.

I thought this was a good kill. I don't think you did anything that outragous. I like the part about the truck condom.

I admit that I didn't see that you had 323s, I guess it would be possible to downshift to 2nd at 80 with those.
