my s10 vs 06 350z rematch
#1
Well my buddy owns an 06 350z. We had a couple runs when he first got it and I was running 3.42 gears and edelbrock carb. On one of those runs we were dead even to 110 and on the other he inched me out to 110. Todays run was with my 3.73 gears and holley carb. We went from a dig to 120. We both got to the red light as it was about to turn green so I for sure didnt get to stall up my truck at all. The light goes green and we both chirp the tires and I pull half a length. I rev up to 6k and pull 1 full length ahead then shift to 2nd. I held my 1 length lead and might have inched a little more to the top of 3rd. We pulled over and he said he got to 120 and I was still one full length ahead. I was okay with the victory but I thought my carb and gears would help me more than 1 length. I do know the carb helped with the top end because he didnt pull at all on me until we shut down. Had the race gone any longer he would have passed me. 120 is the shutoff point for my 3speed and 3.73 gears.

The mph at the track will tell you if there is a power improvement.

Sorry guys, I was just feeling a bit left out. No track times but I plan to go on May 13th. I bogged off the line again in this race but not badly. My 350 isnt all that built up but I would expect a low 13. I also put an edelbrock RPM intake on last weekend to replace the Hurricane Single plane. The bog isnt there so that might help. My 60' last time at the track was a 2.2 with a bog. Since my last trip to the track I have changed my intake, carb, and gears but cant really feel a huge difference. We will see. Thanks for replying.

I agree that having an s10 with a 350 doesnt automatically mean its fast. I have seen several that are barely in the 14s. Some people just assume because it has 8 cylinders that it will fly but a stockish v8 is still a terd in an s10. I hope to be running a mid 13 and anything under that I will be happy...for now.
