Default A lil threesum

It was about 8:30PM; not quite dark yet and driving home from work on a four-lane when this silver Chrysler 300, and this what I think was a white Honda Prelude or Accord, newer sporty model midsize- clean looking driven by a young kid get into a pissing match. The Honda tries to overtake the 300 when the 300 speeds up and the Honda had to cut the 300 off to get back over. I know the 300 driver is pissed because he is flashing his lights behind the Honda and then overtakes the Honda. Well the light ahead turns red with a car in the left lane and in the right lane is the 300 in the front, followed by the Honda, followed by me; all in the right lane. I know these two are gonna both go hard when the light turns green so I get ready to follow suit. Well light catches me off guard and by the time I take off, the Honda is 2 cars out front , and the 300 is about 4 out in front of the Honda and moving out super fast . I catch the Honda and move around to the left for the pass at about 70mph and just slowly walk on by and give him 2 beeps and wave to him and his girlfriend . As soon as I get around him and get 3 or 4 on him he just gives up and falls way back with the 300 still about 6 out in front of me and Im barely closing the gap at over a 100mph when the 300 slows down. I never could get a chance to get up next to the 300 because we hit some traffic up ahead and it was time for me turn off. I know the driver of the Honda didn’t expect that from a full size sedan and sure as hell didn’t expect to get passed by a full size pickem-up while getting drug by a full size sedan. I would have to say that Honda would have given a stock Mustang a good run because I have raced about 3 Mustangs and won and I had to try just as hard to get around that Honda as I would any of the Mustangs I have raced in the same situation. That Chrysler was ridiculous and I would have loved to race it. I never did try to read the badges but I know it was at least a v-8 and didn’t know they had an SRT-8 version so I know it was at least one of those two.

Yep it could have been a SRT.I don't see too many around here but they will move pretty d*** good for a sedan.

Yeah, Im sure he had a little work into his grocery getter, it was pretty peppy, but ran out of breath after 70, hell thats when mine starts pullin hard That 300 was something else though, It kinda reminded me of the way a co worker I raced who has an 01 camaro moved out when I raced him; he pulled 2 off the line and thats how we stayed upto 120. I will be sure not to sleep if I ever line up with one, I usually get a little lazy at the light waitin to see what the other is gonna do because I can usually play catch up if need be. I figured Im gonna get rid of the dubbs and the hard top though, it kinda works against what im tryin to do. I like the way the lightnings look, and almost got one at the used car lot I went to but than I saw the truck I have now sittin in the back corner for a little less. Im almost sure if my truck wasn’t there, I would be sportin a lightning, but all in all I have enjoyed fixin this truck up and surprising some people .

Ever run yours at the track?A 6.0L sounds like quite a bit of motor for a SCSB.Just for a heads up I ran a SRT-8 Charger from a 70 roll and he couldn't really pull and I could barely inch up on him.I'm sure the SRT-8 300 isn't much different.

Never ran mine at the track, got a few things to do before. I want smaller lighter wheels, I got ls1 fans to install, need some exhaust work, and still need to get my tuning finished for my gears; its short shifting, and Oh yeah, I still got that nitrous kit, I wanna put it back on now .I was behind a Charger RT getting on an on ramp to an expressway and guess he was tired of me tailgating him and tried to lose me after he went through the toll booth, I stayed on his 6 the whole way upto 100 and had to ease up on the throttle to keep from pushing him out of the way, so I would imagine the none SRT 300 would perform similarly as the charger RT in that retrospect. That 300 I was talking about in this orginal post had a hella lot of more geterup and go than that Charger RT so maybe it was an SRT
