and a camaro z28! but first things first

I was going along today to get copper gaskets for my cutouts, when all of a sudden I look and see a black solid painted chevy behind me coming up really fast. I than stopped at the next stoplight, and the silverado (07 classic with some good sounding exhaust and factory 20's) pulls up beside me. I looked over and just for fun I gave him a little rev He wouldnt even look at me period, but when the light turned green it was on! We stayed about neck and neck through first gear, and than I jumped a little ahead on the shift to second, he stayed at the rear of my bed until I shifted into third and got another little jump on him. By this time he was a length behind me, and I shut it down at about 90 mph. We stopped together at the next stoplight and again he wouldnt even look at me He pulled off slowly again at the next light and acted totally uninterested in racing again, so i pulled off and that was that.

I was cruising down the strip in my town late the other night, and a champagne colored z28 with two big dudes pull up behind the car next to me at the stoplight. I gave a little rev, and so did they. When the light turned green I got on it and the z28 merged to get around the car in front of it. When he got into the lane next to me I could tell he wasnt going to stop accelerating so I just punched it at about 30 mph. We stayed neck and neck for just a second and than all of a sudden he slowed down than picked back up but never reeled me in. By about 90 I had a good length on him. I slowed the bee down and I pulled into the gas station, and the guys in the z followed. He rolled down the window and asked me what I had done to it, and I told him and he said " its a nice truck for sure, I think i mighta had you for a second though, but I missed a gear". I told him good race and we went our ways........... ahhh what a good last 2 weeks its been for the truck....

The first one sounds like a good kill, but I must admit I'm skeptical about the second.

 

what do those bubble bee's come with? I had an episode friday with one... it got me off the line but I had started it into third we didn't get a chance to try it again I wanted to though...

 

They have an exhaust tip....that's it.

how in the hell did you start it in 3rd gear. Do you not have that truck in your avatar or do you have a t56 swap?

 

I'll leave that up to you boss. Thats not the first one that ive semi hung with though, i beat a 96 or so z28 before but its clutch was going out. No point in lying I actually had a chevy guy thats a member on this site in my passenger seat when it happened

btw nice truck! Im about to move to austin myself and go to UT here soon, so maybe you'll see me around someday.

As far as performance, nothing... even other limited rams come with a tip. Its basically an appearance package, I just wanted something other than a plain jane hemi. I have mad respect for chevy's though, If I had known about the SS silverado I might have gotten it instead of the HEMI.

 

Ive kinda done that before... started driving around in 2nd gear since its right next to D. thankfully I caught it quick enough

 

yeah thats my truck in the avatar...when we were at the light for some reason I was thinking maybe if I put it in 3rd I might get off the line faster well now I no the answer

BTW used to have an avalanche, man do I miss it.... went camping with a few girls one time in that thing, ended up sharing the full covered bed and folded down back seat with them overnight....... yep thats right..... nailed BOTH OF EM
