i have a stock lightning
first thing i brought the truck home stock and gave the keys to my cousin she was driving my truck and i was in her boyfrends modified srt4 neon. i was just able to stay in front of her in the neon that was peeking at 18 psi of boost it is suposed to run 13.50s dose it count if you beat your own truck ran 0 to 80 and 55 to 100
second went to the track had a best time of 13.72 at 99.8mph beet up on the f body cars 1 ran 14.70 at 92 the other ran 13.83 at 108 he had a traction issue. also ran a honda that ran 17.1 at 80
and the only thing tat has ever pulled up next to me and wanted to run was a mid 90s kawasaki ninja at this point i have installd an aem brute force witch is the only mod so far he came up to me at the begining of a series of stop signs. from the first to the second is 2 blocks long and the speed limit is 35mph. i ran him up to 60 mph and then backed out beet him to 60 but he would have had me by 70 or so the. next series of 6 stopsigns is only 1 block apart then the police station also ran into a lot of trafic so i wasn't able to run him again beside i knew there was no chance of winning aginst a bike when i took up the chalenge, but was plesently suprised i satyed in front for just the few seconds we ran

i have an 03
i was thinking about putting some caltracs ( www.calvertracing.com ) on for aditional traction (a launch at over 800rpm at the track resalted in a major loss of traction evon after thurowly heating the tires) but i do not know how they will effect the handling of the truck. my uncle has some on his 98in weelbase amx and it took care of the squerly tendencys and with a 650 horse engine and i belive 315/60/15 firestone ss20s and a good burn out outside of my buddys house we sucseeded in hooking the tires and breaking the welds loose on the center section and twisting it about 75 degrees before it hit the floor pan and the u joint exploded. now he has a 671 blown 390 and dana 60 in the car and it has ran 11.46 in the quarter with the clutch slipping so bad you can let you foot off of it and the break in first gear and roll backward at a stop light
as for other mods this is my every day driver so im going to the dyno thing in stilwell KS to look at other peoples trucks and get ideas for something that will hold up to daly abuse. i drive my cars very hard. on my honda civic si i put 24,000 miles on befor i traded it for this truck. every day at every stoplight i hit 7,000rpm in both first and second i also went through 40,000+ mile tires in 15,000. so far in the 8 months ive owned the truck i put 6,000 miles on it and went through around half the new goodyears i rotated them at 3,000 they still look kind of melted around the edges.
