So I am just cruising around because it was a really nice night last night, when I pull up to a red light and see this blue 2006 Zo6 Vette pull up beside me. There are two lanes for about 800 feet or so until it merges into one just over top the hill. I don’t think much of it because I figure he is making a right, so I just sit back and wait for the light. Well, he doesn’t pull up to make the right, and he starts reving up and sounding like an ***. So I pop it into 4hi thinking I’m going to need it if he wants to run. I inch up a little and wait for the light to change, I push the converter up to about 1500 or so and the light turns green. I dump it and get a great jump on him, I am out ahead at least 2 car lengths right away. He must have had some exhaust work done because that sucker was loud when he nailed it, but he couldn’t keep up. Man it felt great to get a jump on his *** like that and he must have let off quick when he realized he just got spanked…..that’ll teach him to rev at me! I go on around the corner and pull into the Food Lion to get some groceries to make lunch for the week when I see him come pulling into the lot too. He pulls up beside me and says, “nice truck”. I say thanks and tell him he has a sweet looking Vette, and he laughs out loud at me. Now I didn’t notice it until just then, but he must have had some body work done to it because he says, “this aint no Vette, it’s a Ford Tempo”. I looked a little closer, and sure enough that crazy idiot had changed all the body panels on his Vette to look like a Ford Tempo “Sleeper”. He says he’s getting ready to drop it off at the shop because it won’t idle unless he gives it a little gas and he has a hole in the muffler. I said sure whatever, I have been around cars long enough to know the difference between a Vette and a Tempo. So I said go a head and take it to the shop for your supposed exhaust work and sensor issue and when you get it out give me a ring for another run if you feel up to it.



So if that guy is out there reading this……….You may be able to disguise your Vette as a Tempo for now, but sooner or later you’re going to realize what a horrible mistake it was to tear up a beautiful Zo6 like that, just so you can try and win a few races. I will be here when you’re ready for another go at.

Ok, that story confused the heck out of me? So was it a new Z06 converted to a ford tempo or is this some kind of sick joke?

You sure it wasn't a Tempo trying to be a ZO6... Good kill...if it was a Vette or not.

So if it had all the body panels changed to a Tempo, how did you recognize and believe it to be a 2006 Z06? Weird.

I hope he's trying to say a tempo with vette panels on it but hell this is all crazy to me.

 

Okay, Okay.....obviously this sounded way funnier in my head than it does in reality.....


Let me break it down for you.......here are the facts:

-a car lined up with me at the light
-it was reving at me <--because it wouldnt idle
-it was loud as hell <--because it had a hole in the muffler

It was a buddy of mine who owns a Tempo, and he tried to sneak up beside me and race me without me knowing it. I caught onto his game and dusted him, then he followed me into the parking lot. I was just teasing him about it on here thinking he might respond but i guess he is just a puss. I made the Z06 thing up because it made for a better thread title than,

"I killed a mid 80's Ford Tempo."

Sorry guys, my attempt at humor, and i guess i failed. Bottom line is i killed the bitch though, right?
