well, it sounds like his car wasn't a Cobra-R, but he added the wing from one.

 

He said a Mach1, so its a 4 valve DOHC 4.6 rather than the 2 valve SOHC. The 3v SOHC came out in 05-10. The 4v is actually a drivers race stock for stock to an ls1 with the slight advantage to the ls1

They only made the bullets in 01 btw

Im an all over GM guy but I do know those year Mach1s are not to be compared to the shitty 2v's. They are the same thing as the 99-01 cobra with about a 6800 redline and do well in responding to mods compared to the GT. They are the same basically as the 03 04 cobra except the Mach1 has higher compression, cobra comes with different intake manifold forged internals from factory able to handle 800-900 hp safely if im correct on the numbers, and a 6 speed manual. Its very possible for a Mach1 to make 500+ with a Kenne Bell but im not so sure on 8lbs.

Story is dont underestimate the Mach1, they are a pretty stout mustang for what it is and some Ls1 guys are hessitant to be cocky around them because you never know. I give them props BUT, LS1 FTMFW!!!!

 

well i have personally seen a stock bottom end cobra 03-04 bottom end in pensacola,fl putting down like 880 to the wheels with a twin turbo kit. I am definally a gm man. also talkin about mach 1's there is another one in p cola with a whipple swap that is fast as hell so dont right them off either!

 

Really where were these? I just got off NAS pensacola about a month ago, theres a hell of alot of corvettes whenever I went downtown lol

 

i'm here too & i'd like to know where these guys are. one of my friends just put a KB2.6 on his otherwise almost stock 05 GT (he's got a catless X & magnaflows), and the sucker's actually putting down 458hp & i forget what torque.

ps @ Buford17 - if you ever saw the pewter FRC with purple lights, that's mine - but yeah, there's a crap-ton of vettes here

 

Damn man..... I think I do remember seeing some sort of car with purple lights.... cant remember what it was though, this was back in November December. Mostly C6 corvettes is what I saw. Alot of that light blue color all the time. I wasnt able to explore the city that much not having a vehicle you know how it is, im sure you always see Marines taking the cabs everywhere haha

 

then that woulda been me. the only other purple lights i've ever personally seen were a couple neon underbody kits. never seen anybody else do blinkers/DRLs. i live on base (for now anyway), so that's probably where you'd've seen it most.

and yeah... the Marines're always in those white vans, too

 

Yea well it is a big base, I was of course around where all the students stayed lol alot of interesting cars there saw a good number of srt-4s

 

alright one of my friends met you saturday night and he said you parked next to or infront of the mach 1. my fault it dosent have a whipple on it it is a stock eaton from an 03/04 cobra and I know he is makin damn good hp. also he has a 6 spd swap.
