I was crusin home down the freeway in the middle lane when I look in my side view and notice something closing next to me in the left lane. From the lights I wondered if it was and sure enough when he gets next to me I realize it's the mighty Lightning. I match his speed and get a little ahead of him and then he matches mine and pulls up even with me. At this point I know we need to get going a little quicker before I have a good roll in forth. I step on it a little more and get up to about 85, at this point his front bumper is at my rear. So I figure it's go time, I drop into 4th and nail it. I can tell he is staying close to me and in a couple of seconds I notice that I'm closing on a car in front of me and I need to either get over in front of him or get off of it and brake. I look into my sideview and sure enough somehow, someway there is a little bit of space starting to open up between us. I had enough to cut in front of him and at this point I'm in the power band nicely and put about a trucklength on him to around 100+. I see a puff of smoke come out of his side exhaust when gets off of it. He doesn't try to get next to me to try it again so I figure that's it I finally beat one of those bastards.

Hows your tranny/clutch holding out?

 

Clutch good, tranny not so good. 3rd gear is toast, probably get it rebuilt in a month or so.

BTW c.nash - I put the wheel, tire and drop info into my sig.

 

Eww, raising in traffic and crossing over with little room while raceing. No bueno, but good kill.
