Default First real race with the nitrous hooked up

Buddy of mine traded his TBSS for a 07 Classic CCSB 5.3l with tune and headers. I wanted to see what the little 4.8 would do against it as well as he hadn't run his truck against anyone at all. We ran twice, both from a 30~ish roll.

First run was me on bottle. We honked it off and he got the jump on me. I hit the nitrous and pulled him by a good length or two up to around 70 or 80ish.

Second run was all motor. Honked it off again from a 30 roll. I got the jump this time but he pulled me by a half to a full lenth or so by the time we hit 80 ish.

Me: 2003 4.8 RCSB 4.8, stock tune, CIA, No cats, 18" magnaflow, 20's, 3.42s. Nitrous jets were 41 N20 and 22 Fuel (around 60ish RWHP)

Him: 07 Classic 5.3 CCSB, headers, CIA, magnaflow, Tune, 22's, 3.73's

I think on the Nitrous run you should of build a little bit harder. and on motor he should of got you about half another car.

30-70 is a pretty short race, though. Did you even shift into 3rd?

I feel like you should have had him harder... reg cab vs cc, and on nitrous. the difference between 5.3 and 4.8 is mostly in torque numbers so he should get the jump then give it up to you... hmm

yeah, I feel you should have pulled harder than that on motor and on spray.

He's still on a stock tune. That sounds about right to me.

Good runs man. Get a damn tune for your truck

Im the guy he raced and its pretty much as he said, on the first run initially i got about a 1/2 truck on him then he came around while spraying, and the second run i just kept pulling him so i let out wasnt much need to keep going anymore.

This is my truck, 2006 CCSB, Longtube Headers, Off Road Y-Pipe, 18" magnaflow muffler, AEM Brute Force Intake, and a tune unsure of what brand or who did the tune though, everything was done when i bought the truck last thursday. Unsure if a small evap leak would effect anything either in the race, but thats got my check engine light on also.
