Default Dak 5.9 R/T..... next!!!

well the truck ha been running exceptionally well these past few days since I got my 65e in it and the truck back from the shop. I was coming through my little town from washing the truck when an old buddy of mine pulled up next to me in his R/T Dakota. I know for a fact he has intake and cat-back exhaust but not sure what else. The night before I had just gotten finished fabbing up the mounts for my new traction bars and was eager to try them out. We talked while the light was red and decided to go for it when it turned. we both got a pretty even jump and he hung at my door through first gear but as soon as I shifted into second I slowly pulled away from him... we ran to about 85 where I had almost 2 lengths on him and I shut it down because cops have been getting prety bad around here lately. We pulled over up the road and he wanted to look under my hood. I had nothing to hide. he swore I sprayed on him though. I told him to look under the seat where the bottle is mounted and tell me what he saw... no bottle... He was impressed and so was I honestly... I hope the truck keeps on running like it has been...

I ran one not too long ago on 20"s and he kept up better than I thought he would.I don't know what he had but from a dig I got him by about 1 1/2 cars.

I am not sure what they would run stock or with just a few mods... I would think high 14's if they could hook... just a pure ball park guess though. I still havent run anyone with the cutouts open yet. I have driven it open but not raced anyone yet. I wonder what it would do...

Good kill. Dakota R/Ts can be real fast. I've seen a few that are running 10's and 11's. It really all depends on what they have done to it, and weight just like any other truck if it is RC or EC.

damn I knew they were fast but I didnt think 10's and 11's... I am guessing it would take some pretty serious work for that.... I dont know. He may have been spinning the whole time we were running... it is the street after all.

Yes, the ones I've seen run 10's and 11's were at Rockingham and have A LOT of work done to them but they are still full frame trucks with the 5.9L. Most of the ones that are running that fast have all forged internals, and other major mods. like you might expect.
