QUOTE=sleeperlqx;4610772]..but some of the comments from i20rider is uncalled for... just pure ignorance...just the tune alone anhilates 98% of the people on my comute to work....I would say from experience it responds very very well.[/QUOTE]

You're 100% right, Totally uncalled for, and pure ignorance! His first post and bashing a truck he'd probably kill to get! Trust me, I'm not at all bashing the SSS, I'm just wondering if people that pay that kind of price can't, or don't think they have to modify them to get the performance they're capable of! Now guys, I don't own a SSS, I've only got a '06 VHO Sierra, but with headers, cam, 4l80e, stall. meth, and a TVS 1900, I really don't think his momma's 4.3 can hang in even the top 1% of the folks on my commute. (anybody noticed that he hasen't been back, even to defend his opinion?).

Given the funds, the AWD SSS' can be beasts beyond belief, especially with the transfer case GM put in them.
If you were close, we could put it to the test

Also, "given the funds" is not a good argument. "Given the funds" you could put in a twin turbo LSX 454 with a 300 shot of nitrous on top of that. The fact of the matter is the SSS in stock form is fat, slow, and a clear cut third place in regards to Dodge and Fords offering for those year of trucks. The SSS is definitely a nice truck, it looks very good, it's comfortable, and requires no more maintenance than a normal truck (which is basically is just a regular truck, there's nothing "high performance" about it really). It's more of an practical everyday guys truck than the lightning or SRT-10.

But I am a Chevy guy, given the opportunity I would take an SSS over a lightning or SRT-10 GIVEN I had the funds to mod it to my liking. If I were to buy the truck and leave it stock/lightly modded, I would without a doubt pick the Dodge, or possibly the Ford.

The talking about corrected times mine ran 13.6 at 101. That's one wheel wonder 2.1 60 foot. Specte intake, lpp longtubes, Corsa muff and blackbear tune. That's it. And I weighed in at 4750 or so or 4800 without me.

I think for 103k miles it's a strong *** running motor. But I take care of her. And I bought it in 07 with 30k miles all stock for 23k.

They were on the front. But I was running set of 26 inch tall tires on alum tahoe wheels. Between broken diff and no c notch at the time it sucked leaving the line lol.

I really like the SSS. I do think that they should have been a RCSB. Seems more sporty to me. Any of these trucks respond well to proven mods. If I had the cash for a second truck I'd pick up an SS. Like the idea of having room to throw crap in the back seat, the style and etc. But for the time being I'll keep my little 4.8 RST and throw mods at it.

Mine weighed in at 5180 with me in it and ran 13.80 with a few boltons. I think Im gonna have to put a cam in my RCSB 5.3 to keep up with my SS. I love the SS trucks

I love my new (new to me) awd SSS. I was tired of having traction issues with the rst. I can't wait to start the real modding on the SSS to se what it can really do. I know it is a heavier truck but I'm not concerned. It just means that I will have to do better modding. It's alot more truck then the regular ecsb with more options. I don't regret the trade at all.
