03/04 Cobra and the L
#1
I lined up with an 03/04 Cobra at a light. I asked the driver what he had done, "I only took off the mufflers because it was too quite." He bought the car several months ago and it still had some dealer tags on it. I suspect the previous owner modded it and he may not of known it. He couldn't have bought it new.
As I'm talking to him the light turns green and I say let's see what it(cobra) can do. So rolling about 10mph he floors it. By the time I got into it he was already past my front bumper in a hurry. Seemed by the time I was full throttle the Cobra had already put a car distance between us and that is how it stayed until I let up at 90mph.
I pulled up next to him while cruising and said let's catch a red light, but he turned off. Had we an even start off idle it may have ended up with him looking at my tailgate.
I can't imagine a stock Cobra pulling that well against a modded L, especially on the bottom end.
My meaningful mods- 4# lower/tuned on dyno, drag radials, LFP 58" bars, QA1 shocks.
