Hey what's going on guys, I am looking for some info, my father has a 97 dakota ext cab 3.9 truck and it has 140k and the engine rattles alot, it has never been very strong, so any ways I told him that I would put another engine in there for him because he is somewhat attached to it, I would like to get some good solid info on swapping a hemi into it, thanks guys!

 

Search the net its been done several times.

 

Alot of guys do a 5.7l hemi swap... most get there's out of Rams

Totally agree my 5.9 stroked to a 6.7 seems to hold its own against the Hemi.

 

A 6.7 should handle a 5.7 Hemi......now could you handle a stroked Hemi????

 

I know this is an old thread.But If your'e still interested I did It and I can tell you how..I put a 2004 Hemi in my 2001 Dakota Quad Cab..
