Given, the heavy opposition to 3.42s on this site, I may just keep the 4.10s for the time being and see what it does at the track.

What size tires are you running? 4.10's and 110mph @ 5950 in 3rd? And or what is your converter slip RPM at that point.

I just checked my scans, I am at 5300rpm at 110mph in 3rd with a TCC slip of 400. At 6000 my tcc slip is 280 ish rpm.

My tires aren't small though. 31"

28" tires.

Converter slip was in the good range, about 5% I believe when I logged it.

New setup almost ready to fire. Not much time to work on the truck with my current work schedule though. Just a few loose ends to tie up...wire up the IAT, fill with oil coolant, install the OEM efan harness. I'm planning to get a new alternator and upgrade the power wires to thick gauge. I don't know if I should just go with a stock 145 amp unit or get an aftermarket 200+ amp.

Nice. I would stick with the stock 145 that is what i run. Your engine bay looks alot better with those efans!

I actually did not want to switch to electric fans but I had to upgrade my radiator. My old cold pipes would not work with the bigger radiator. You can tell in the pics, it's an aftermarket all aluminum radiator. I'm really pleased with the quality, direct bolt in. I'm also going to run closer to a 65/35 or 70/30 water/coolant ratio versus 50/50 to increase cooling capacity. I want this thing to run 180 sitting in traffic with the a/c blasting in the summer with 100+ temps.

Why do you want it running so cool?

I dont consider 180 cool by any means. For me, lower ECT means lower cyl temps and less chance of detonation. With the stock 28" rad and clutch fan it would run high 170s to low 180s on the highway. Upper 180s to low 190s putzing in town. Thats with a 160 tstat. A/c on we're north of 200-210.

Yeah, im guessing the stock 145 will work. I dont want to have voltage drop to the 2 walbro 450s with the fans running simultaneously though. Ive seen 200 or 250 amp units on ebay for around 120ish which appear to be reworked 145 amp oe units. Just dont know the quality of them and if its anything more than an overdrive pulley.
