Gates 90 degree hoses to loop heater core hoses out around the turbo.

The trick kit comes with a heat shield wrap but the stitching in the hi-temp Velcro was coming out. I pulled the Velcro off, cut the wrap down the middle and wrapped the AC hose and closest heater individually and used stainless cable ties to secure it.

Lower radiator hose to pump. I flipped it 180 degrees, Rad end of hose is on the water pump now. I also cut 1-1.5" off this end. This put the bend in the hose closer to the engine and seemed to open up more room for piping from turbo to intercooler.

The plastic 'Y' where heater core hose connects before water pump, I cut off the factory plastic clamp, rotated the Y fitting forward, which helped with routing. I used Gates powergrip heat shrink clamps to secure the hoses.

Time to practice welding Al. Before starting this I could count on 1 hand the number of times I have attempted to weld aluminum, so its not exactly weld **** material. Part of starting this build thread was to keep myself motivated and maybe inspire some other people to get out in the garage and build some cool ****.

what did you use for a union between the gates 90 degree piece and the rest of the hose?

Hoses fit stock push on fittings and are plenty long enough to reach water pump.

Oh OK, when I googled it, I only found an 18" leg of hose, so I figured you had a union over by the fender

Damn, welded it to the wrong end.

I struggled orientating and clamping these two pieces for the last weld, enough room to get two good tacks on it.

Cut a piece of scrap pipe down the side and drilled a hole 180 degrees from the opening and used a clamp on each end, as pictured above.

Installed.
