I've already sourced a 4l60e for the swap but I can't go get it until I pull the 350 and 700 r4 out of my truck so I can save 125 bucks on the core charge

Ordered clevite rod and mains today, went with p series since I doubt the motor will make anywhere close to 500 ponies, next year when I add a turbo or two I'll take her apart and swap to h series bearings although from what I can gather information wise the only difference between h and p series bearings are the h series are .001 thinner to clear forged crank fillets that I don't have. Both tri metal correct me if I am wrong.

Now just waiting for my gaskets to show up so I can get the valve seals to the machine shop so they can reassemble the heads

Speak of the devil, showed up a day early, worked out good l, was off today for dentist appointment so was able to get my valve seals over to him. Hopefully ill be putting this mouse together next weekend. Think ive got everything except maybe an aftermarket fuel rail, not sure the truck rail is going to work with my new injectors, and some an braided hose and fittings.

This has gotten me pretty motivated. I'm currently in the process of getting everything together to put a 5.3 in my 96'!

If I did it over again, buy one that you can hear run and slap it in there. Taking it apart just makes it so much more expensive

I agree100%!
Mine is currently at the machine shop. I didn't want to ruin a bunch of new parts in a motor I knew nothing about. Hopefully I'll have the shortblock back next week, heads are already done.

What heads are you running? I'd love to find a used set of trick flows, or something that's been worked over by TEA or AFR but ao far that's way out of my budget

30 pound ev1 4 hole injectors from ford, rebuilt and flow matched to within 1 percent

Will stick them on my intake and see if the fuel rails work this weekend. Not looking promising just from eyeballing it.
Anyone happen to have the specs on these guys? I didn't get any paperwork with them for the tunner.

Also what electric fan set up for a 89 gmc stock radiator? Open to dual or single fan units as long as they do the work, also, anyone recommend a tranny cooler?
