I have a 102mm throttle body that I just put on. In this picture its sitting next to a 90mm ported LS2 throttle body. Fairly big difference. The difference in potantial CFM between the 90 and 102 is huge... That being said it's in desperate need of a tune, but it seems to be working well. I was very afraid of plugging this bad boy in and having the truck go into REP mode as soon as I started to drive it. On the Gen 3 PCM this is a common problem. Going from park to drive the revs flare way up as the PCM tries to increase its airflow. With the 102mm blade a slight crack lets in way more air than the 90 did...
Obviously the running airflow will need to be adjusted as well. It seems the 'seal' around the throttle body blade is only OK... factory throttle bodies seem to be better. I hope that doesn't effect my ability to lower my idle as low as I would like to. Time will tell.
Your truck with a 408 and an s480 must be fast as hell... I gotta figure it spools fast and is somewhat of a brute even out of boost.
I haven't had a chance to put the boost to this thing yet. I had a few pump issues and ran out of summer. I got my setup running about a week before it snowed here.
I was pretty disappointed with off boost. The truck weighted in at 5670 with my 22's and I ran it at the track for the first time at 3 psi and wouldn't build boost off the line, and I forgot to turn off my speed limiter on the new ecm file. It ran a 13.3 at the track like that, basically leaving the line at an idle and it would shut off as it hit 3rd gear. Sucked. I don't think the turbo was doing crap at those boost levels either. I don't expect the turbo to really come to life until I can get it up around 10psi. I have gotten it tuned up to about 7psi and that was where I figured out one of my pumps was not holding pressure. I swapped the pumps around as primary and it held fine.
Hopefully at the first track day (in may) I will get new numbers in the 11's. That's the goal, any faster will be a plus.
My 402/82mm was a dog out of boost, or less than 7psi or so, but than again I built it to handle 20psi not optimized for 7psi. When you let the turbo do the work and let it live at 15psi+ its a monster. Kind of like taking a pitbull for a walk...lazy as hell until they find a cat to go after then good luck holding on.
