So when is your buddy going to come teach you how to tune up carbs?

 

gotta get springs and fuel working before jacking with it. i'm already jetted up 4 sizes on the back. i'm going to go up 4 jets on the front and see where it's at. when i leaned out the idle at the track my part throttle tip in went extreme lean.

 

On your carb to swap jets do you have to take off the fuel bowl or does it have access ports?

 

it has access ports. easy as hell.

 

Nice! Back in my carb days i had to remove the damn bowls. Gas everywhere.

 

nope. all i need is an ozarka bottle to chop in half and 2 wrenches. it's pretty slick.

 

Also is there room to install the AC compressor in the factory location? I forgot to look at SAR.

 

with some frame notching. i think i'm going to go with a vintage air setup on this truck. the factory ac box will not fit with my headers.

 

That is good to know. Those vinatge air things are nice. I have installed a couple of them. If the new ones are like the old ones. I would mock up all the lines then take them to a hydraulic shop and have the hose ends crimped. The kits i installed where like push loc hose ends with hose clamps. They worked but leaked over time.
