i was at smileys yesterday lol. keeping the stock hard lines. running things between these headers that split the frame is getting tough. i'm running out of room in there lol.

the back of the hood is what is touching...not the top of the cowl. the motor sits back pretty far. i could get an offset air cleaner and run the cleaner 5" taller if i wanted lol. not looking for a cartoon engine in there though.

annnd absolutely none of that happened. instead i went and did a 5k for brest cancer, then went bowfishing until about 2am. sunday ate lunch and kicked up the texans game. pick 6 in the first drive so i turned off the texans game and went to the drag strip to help a buddy.

a beer can for reference to size, and we got 1 a little bigger. all together i think we shot 47 fish. a ton of needle nose gar, 1 small alligator gar, probably 10 buffalo, 1 big grass carp, and i got 1 small mullet because we started seeing who could shoot the smallest fish.

trinity river. we were afraid that the cool front would kill the fishing, but it was a great day/night of fishing.

A good cold front in the fall will turn them on... Spring time is when it gives them lock jaw lol. I miss bow fishing, haven't done it in years

good news...the booster is now painted. that makes me feel better lol. the MSD box is wired for good. i dropped off the rear end over the weekend. the lil pickup will be backed with a 8.8 rear from a ford explorer. shortening the long side down to center the pumpkin, and keeping the stock 31 spline axles. the stock posi is getting upgraded with the carbon clutch kit that comes in a mustang cobra, adding a c clip eliminator kit, calvert perches welded in with the correct pinion angle and the axles/disks will be drilled to the s10 lug pattern. also welding the axle tubes and finishing it off with some ARP cap studs and a nice cover. it should be pretty solid. my only fear is the factory posi letting loose. that is money to be spent later i guess.

also bought a new truck (to me) over the weekend. 2002 HD silverado. should be plenty enough to tow the s10 to the track for the first couple trips before i'm confident enough to drive it there and back.

I've got a TransGo 80e shift kit, and the TransGo 80e valve body repair kit to fix the 2-1 down shift when you're ready

lol, i think i'm going to leave this ol 180,000 mile transmission alone. dont have any plans for the truck really...wash it, fix a few minor issues and drive it. maybe see if charlie can throw in a mail order tune for an extra MPG or so. it will be a work horse for when i need a truck. i've been kicking myself since i sold my silverado. i hate having to borrow trucks whenever i need one.

what's the story on the 2-1 down shift problem?
