i just picked me up a cam for the s10. i got the cam "used" but it was only installed into a block, and never even had the rockers tightened on top of it. i'll call it new lol. picked it up for $220 shipped.

Howard's Cam 236/242 .612/.612 110lsa
IO 12
IC 44
TDC Overlap 19
EC 7
EO 55
ICL 106

it should fit the bill nicely

i was going to go bigger, but decided that i didnt want to flycut the pistons. this cam will be pretty tight on PTV clearance(probably below recomended), but nowhere near how tight the cam i originally planned.

i wish it was for me, but that one is EFI. i'm playing with a carb on this one. i wont go over 250 on the stock bottom end so a plate on the vic jr will do just fine. that definately looks cool as **** though!

i found an intake and carb today. it's a recently rebuilt holley double pumper with a brand new victor jr intake. comes with the fuel bar, throttle brackets, gaskets and the fuel bar. 450 shipped.

NOTE: NOT MY ENGINE PICTURED, BUT MY INTAKE/CARB

yeah i will use the hummer oil pan so i dont have to cut the crossmember. headers will probably be brp 1 3/4 or brp 1 7/8. i havent decided if i want to use the 1 7/8 yet because i dont think the ac compressor will fit with them. i'd like to keep A/C if i can.

I think you have to relocate the ac compressor to the top to fit an s10

nah, a simple frame notch will let the ac compressor slip right in. the only thing i havent quite figured out is the transmission crossmember for an 80e if i go that route. over on tech i see guys with 500 running years on a junkyard 80e with a trans-go shift kit. until i'm ready to drop the big bucks on a built transmission i guess i'll have to skimp out on running a trans-brake. theres an 80e on craigs list from a 2005 service van that was rebuilt 25,000 miles ago for 300 bux. tempting. i've bought enough for it this week though lol.
