Any more recent pictures / updates on this project. Just finished reading the whole thread. Hate to have to pause here!! Some pretty enjoyable reading at your expense. I've been there done that with boats, street cars, high dollar Harleys. My Silverado is just a daily street driven play toy. These 5.3's respond so positively to minor performance tweaks that once you get started you have to keep it going. Thanks again for some great threads. Can't wait to read more.

when swapping the solid lifters back to the unmodified lifters i dropped on and damaged iti was pissed! so i only got 1 head bolted down for good. and i need to get a replacement lifter before finishing the motor. i also got the front cover and ud pulley put on. started to check my lifter preload and only had .025 lifter preload using the .050 shims that yella terra supplied. this was with the 7.750 pushrods that i'm using. i pulled the shims completely and had .100 preload so i need to call and order some .025 shims today. my math says it will put me right around .060 preload which makes me happy (better than buying new pushrods!) a buddy may have some spare lifters laying around. i'm waiting to hear back from him. all of the spare lifters i had were the newer style LS7 lifters and i think these are the older style in this motor. just more delays. nothing new putting this combo together is fighting me every inch of the way. nothing has been easy yet. it better run good!

Just remember, nothing easy is worth having! It'll be worth it all in the end. Ill be going through the same struggles myself as soon as I get my silverado done.
