Meanwhile, the ZR1 plugs showed up today...

gonna throw them in tomorrow...what gaps are you guys recommending?

Being an iridium plug you are NOT supposed to gap them. But you are supposed to check and make sure they are the gap specified on the box.

Box says to gap per vehicle specification...you can gap an iridium, just have to be bending the finger instead of using the traditional coin style gapper so you dont break the tip...

regardless, my stock vehicle gap is .040, plugs came in at .040....iv been told to leave gap stock...being supercharged, im guessing ill have to gap em a lil tighter...

seems like the V cars keep a stock gap of .040, so i should be fine with the stock setting...

I would do .032.

I am shocked they use a projected tip iridium plug.

Its pretty interesting...

I talked to the GM engineers and thats the data they gave me...both the CTS-V and ZR1, and i believe the ZL1 camaro all use the same plug, gapped at .040...all with a 100k scheduled replacement...now how their ignition is different that ours, thats a different story

Got them in last night...that pass rear plug is a reall PITA

Old plugs looked like they had a good A/F ratio...

+1 that passenger rear is a bitch. A good extension and swivel makes it tolerable

I could use my 3in extension w my deep socket. Too long and it would touch the ac tank thingy
