The latest gen TC on the 10L has recessed mount points, making the circle D conversion flex plate unusable as it has a pretty thick center section...i really liked the Circle D plate but unfortunately cant use it.. Was told the older version 10L TC is flat in the middle and the Circle D plate will work.
Had to get the TCI as it has bosses sticking out allowing the TC to fit. WIth that said, have a Pro-torque 6L80 TC and a circle D flexplate for sale.
Few pics comparing the 6L and 10L TCs
The 6L with the high stall wasn't really the funest to drive around town. It lost the snappiness of a blower car unless you really rev it up...maybe I went too aggresive with the protorque...this 10L is lightning fast at shifting, can skip gears downshifting, more aggressive gear ratios which i really dont need, but I enjoy tighter stalls especially having the torque of the stroker/blower with the 4.10 gears.
I put a circle D 2850 triple disc billet in mine and it’s a blast. It is way better than the old 9” FTI I ran with a 3600 stall. That converter sucked. I am curious how it will run, I love the 10 speed in my wife’s Yukon, it’s always in the right gear.

Thats with the 6L80 correct? Im starting to think maybe the brand or how the TC works matters alot...i know nothing about TC engineering so im just that guy looking for a new project and the 10L80 was a great challenge...as you mentioned the more speeds will always have a gear for the speed your in. Every time i drive the 10R fords or 10L GMs at work im in love with them. My buddy's raptor is amazing at how it feels and drives in all the different modes.

Its all fun and games until they **** the bed... lol
Yes, 6L80. I’ve been thru more transmissions and converters than I care to admit. Converter choice is everything with these trucks. I had that small high stall converter that made my truck no fun to drive. It didn’t couple very well, the circle D is a 10.5” converter and it made all the difference in the world. Totally different driving experience, feels more like stock but doesn’t slip or shudder under big power. I’d go with a circle d converter for that 10L.
