Honestly I'm not sure. The current rear end has 3.08 gears. So rpms are pretty low, it has a 31 gallon tank. I'll post it up next fill up.

Do you mind telling what you need to change to the 4l80 to transfer install mods you have to do i just bought a 87k also and i wanna use a 4l80 ls1but my modern transfer has the front driveshaft on the driver side and the truck use the passenger side one

Sorry I have taken so long to respond. I haven't been on in awhile. I used a NP208 transfer case. It came on the K5 and was already a passenger drop. All I had to change was the input shaft because the 80E was 32 spline out.
