If I remember right that trans is pretty short. Might make sure you have room for a shifter that far forward. Or am I thinking of another trans?

A T10 is no doubt a decent trans, but I'm thinking there are better swaps for a truck.

Is it a regular T10 or a Super T10?

O'yea, can you live without the overdrive?

Maybe it's just the driver lol, but I've grenaded 2 of those trannys. One with a lame 275hp 350 and the other with the new 425hp mill in my '78 Camaro.

I know there are better swaps but I can pick it up for about 50 bucks and it's been rebuilt. I know it's not a hydraulic throwout but was wondering if they make an adapted throwout im just tossing it out there as an honest question never seen it before and thought it would be neat and just wondering

If you wanna do it, Then by all mneans DO IT! I have had ppl shun me for throwin a TH350 in mine and going to carb, but its what I wanted to do to be different and quite frankly i love it, i dont have to daily my truck but i do drive it bout 100-200 miles a week and its not so bad to have a 3 speed

Super T10 strength has been expected from T10 transmissions without users knowing they are different. Typically the reason for a bad wrap.

Also, to the OP...I think that trans is only 16.5" long. You should seriously figure out if the shifter mount will even work in a newer truck. My guess is you'll be slammin gears and bustin knuckles on the dash.

Mine was swapped in from an older car by the previous owner cause my car came with a saginaw. I think it would be a neat swap, but why do you want to get rid of the 5 speed?

A Muncie with a GV overdrive would be tig ole bitties. And it's been done behind an LS. Honestly in the newer trucks a T-56 would be so much less work.

T-56 FTW. Even for $50 the T10 is a hard sell IMHO, just because the complexity of the swap and the lack of return on your investment.
