Default Summit Racing's "Project S71" Silverado Build: (Episode 6)

It’s cool to bolt-up off-road gear like big wheels and tires, a suspension lift, and rugged bumpers. However, a major focus of the Summit Racing Project S71 build is Overlanding.

…And a big part of Overlanding is the ability to carry a lot of stuff.

To that end, this episode of the build series is all about improving the truck’s cargo-carrying capability. The party’s all out back where we add a bed rack along with Molle Mount racks. The cargo bed gets some floor protection along with nifty swing-out cargo boxes for bonus lockable storage. See it all go down in the video above. Then check out each part installed in this episode below:

- ADD Offroad Universal ADD-Lander Overland Racks
- WeatherTech TechLiner Bed Liners
- Putco MOLLE Rack Systems
- UnderCover SwingCases

For full details on the parts used in the build, check out the official Project S71 Chevy Silverado Page on SummitRacing.com. Otherwise, stay tuned in the coming weeks for future episodes!
While getting there is important, bringing all your stuff with you may be important-er (Image/Summit Racing)

Default Summit Racing's "Project S71" Silverado Build: (Episode 7)

We’re nearing the completion of Project S71, as the Chevy Silverado has already received a bounty of off-road and Overlanding upgrades, including a bed rack, suspension lift, and LED light bar.

…Now it’s time to get comfy.

Remember, Overlanding is all about enjoying time in your vehicle, and it all starts with a good night’s sleep. So Project S71 gets a rooftop tent for its truck bed rack to keep its occupants nice and dry—and away from curious critters. Your stomach also plays a huge role during an Overlanding expedition, which means a vehicle-powered cooler is a camping essential here too.

To get you there in one piece we'll show you a cool GPS device made specifically for Overlanding and off-roading. Finally, the Chevy Silverado receives an upgraded hitch, so you can haul a boat, a set of bikes, or whatever else you need to enjoy your off-the-grid time.

Info on the parts installed in the video is below:
- Garmin Overlander Navigation Device
- Dometic CFX3 55 Powered Cooler
- Tepui Explorer Series Kukenam Tents
- Bulletproof Hitches
- ADD Offroad Universal ADD-Lander Overland Rack

For full details on the parts used in the build, check out the official Project S71 Chevy Silverado Page on SummitRacing.com. Otherwise, stay tuned in the coming weeks for future episodes!

Default Summit Racing's "Project S71" Silverado Build: (Episode 8)

Over the course of several video installments, we’ve transformed a stout 2021 Chevy Silverado into a no-compromise off-the-grid expedition rig. Dubbed “Project S71,” the Silverado now wears a suspension lift, bigger wheels and tires, rugged off-road bumpers, rock sliders, a bed rack, a rooftop tent, and a full complement of Overlanding accessories.

You can see every one of the episodes in the Project S71 Chevy Silverado overlanding build series here.

In this final wrap-up video, you’ll see highlights of the key parts getting installed. You'll also learn about the homework and planning that went into the Overlanding build.

Feeling inspired and want to put together an Overlanding rig of your very own? You can visit the Project S71 page at SummitRacing.com to get a good look at each part used in the build.
