nope not going to make it , no point in rushing something like this for a any event at least in my case. ive got too much money and time invested to slap this motor back together.

Im going to be changing some things. motor will be a 432-436 cu in this time and im going to be o-ringing the block and heads for higher boost pressures. going to build it to take 30 psi and 1500 hp . it may take me a month or two since pistons alone are 2-3 weeks away. ill be ready in a few months to take it back to the track and get my new goal.

sounds like some solid upgrades; who's building your motor?

I wouldn't rush a truck as nice as yours for a track day... there will always be other times.

Sounds like it'll be a monster when its back together though... how much boost did you run before?

Chase, you still plan on coming out to check things out even without your truck? Tell Dan or Brandon if you can that your not going. Dave's not going either apparently, haven't heard why exactly though.

nah i need to work and make the money . this way my truck can get back together sooner than later.

devin , im going to be doing the rebuild on this motor . just looking for some assitance in doing the o-ringed block and heads with receiver grooves . there are a few different setups ive been reading about and ive been talking with nelson racing engines about this setup but they use copper head gaskets and they work but not ideal for a street driven setup from what i read.

i just want to do this for the last time and work on upgrading other parts without worrying about my motor . i thought it would take what ever but even 6 bolt heads with 1/2" studs can be lifted. i was making quite a bit more hp than i thought though.

Pyramid rings are hard to beat for a street vehicle.

interesting read on those ,

i just need to find a solution to meet my goals which isnt very common.

i just think i would be ok with an mls gasket but after the 1000 rwhp mark there is alot of different opinions.

Yeah dude it seems hit and miss......some guys (at least from what I read) get away with alot of boost on 4 standard ARP studded heads and for some reason others (like you) don't. I was reading about an O-ringed LS9 gasket setup or something to that effect holding up well.......forget the exact arrangement.

Very cool you are doing the assembly!

Seems like a lot of people who pop headgaskets are running too much timing at peak tq. Let the boost do its job, run more of it and less timing. There is even a guy on tech making over 1300 to the wheels on an LS2 block. Pinned mains of course and its a track vehicle but the power correlation remains the same.
