ever thought about a removable piece?

like something mounted to the frame or rear end that you can flip up

maybe make a bracket and mount to the rear end and put the same bracket on top on the frame so you can set a piece of square tubing in there with a pin and cotter to hold them in.. then the rear end will have NO travel?

My red colorado sat frame to rear end before I notched it.. and have no give at all

I think a set of caltracs or assassin bars would be your best option, short of a four link. I just don't think the solid rear suspension is the right direction. I'm sure you know, but a good set of bars will not only give you traction from weight transfer, but also uses the natural torquing of the axle to drive the tires even harder towards the ground, without squatting the body much. I think the basically solid chassis approach is cheap and may have a slight effect, but it's a bit primitive considering all the options out there.
