I bought a used t case from Yellowchevy on duramax diesels. He just about gave it to me. There were no rebuild kits available then.

@smokinlmm I looked at used t-cases and holy smokes they are not cheap. Rebuilding it costs a tenth of what it would be to just buy a unknown used one.

I do see that there is an updated shift fork part number. I don't really know what the difference is between the two or when/why it came out. I'll have to do some digging.

I added fluid and no change, still same issue. I checked for codes and there are no codes. I would imagine that if this was the transmission it would feel different and also throw codes.

I've pulled the driveshafts and dc'd the electrical and skid plate. I will need to buy a trans jack before I continue.

Mine can still move.
I’d like to have it done by the weekend so I’ll know what to order.

I found something last night that I must have overlooked when I first checked.

The entire time the truck shuddered and shook when I was reversing it felt like it was coming from behind me. I had previously gone over the brakes to make sure everything was there and working but I must have overlooked something. I found the top caliper bolt missing from the driver side bracket. I must have looked right at it and it didn't register. Which is funny/not funny because I was specifically looking for bracket bolts still being attached. I have a new bolt coming and I will refill with ATF and do a test drive on Wednesday.
Also I did not torque these properly, apparently they are supposed to be 221 ft lbs with red loctite. I only did something like 85 no loc tite. I must have misread the torque spec.

The brightside is I would never have known the t-case had no fluid in it lol

Sister's car overheated yesterday on her way to work. Dropped the tune and put it in tow haul mode. Wow that turbo brake is amazing. Towed like a dream, way better than the other U-Haul car hauler I rented. Nice to have working brakes too, now the only thing I need is shocks. Was probably a 40 mile tow or so with the car on.

Also crossed 285k on Tuesday.
