Well I did rattle can some primer on it.
Starting to get some surface rust since its taking me so long and probably won't be able to spray it for a couple weeks. The actual seam appears to have turned out pretty good. A couple high spots in the original sheet metal needs to be touched.

I'll wind up sanding most of this stuff back off. I don't trust it to be compatible with the rest of the paints.

Still have to figure out how I'm going to mount the trailer plug. Get it tucked up underneath somehow. Have to haul off some junk tomorrow. One other thing I noticed after hooking up the trailer. So long as the trailer foot handle was out of the way I used to be able to open the tailgate. Not anymore.

Finished up the body work toady and took care of the trailer light hookup.
Cut the socket bracket off the original hitch.

Tacked it up to the new hitch out of sight.
