Couple closer up pics of the truck I'm working with. Not much to look at right now with all it's rust, grandpa cap and that Long box. Hopefully it runs good when I'm all done with it though !

That muffler is going to be loud. Being so tiny I hardly see a reason to install it.

Yah I figured so, It was in the box of the truck when I bought it. I'll just sell it on kijiji then!

Lol well got the cap off today, I smashed the back window out of it by accident but ahwell. Pulling the truck in the shop this weekend to start tearing it down. Hopefully in the next few weeks I can get some stuff bought when I get back to work (Laid off). I'm really leaning towards the on3 kit with the 78/76 turbo, with some 60lb injectors and some kind of fuel pump I think would be a good set up for now. I'm not sure what my horse power goals are, but my duramax is almost at 500 to the wheels (need a fass150). Would be nice if this truck was a little more then that!

Also seems like a decent 4L80e are going for about $600 in my area which doesn't seem to badly priced more then likely pick one up when ever I find a good deal.

I have a line on a 98 4L80e out of a 1 ton 2wd truck. It's complete and I can get it for $100 bucks. The mechanic at my work is selling it, said he bought the motor and trans, but only needed the motor.

My question is , are all 4L80e's fairy similar through out the years ? And with a harness and flex plate will this work with my 4.8 ? Thanks for the help.

Yes, 98 is good.

Also, recommend KB or trick instead of ON3 (CHINA)

Alright perfect, I'll pick it up then.

Yah I know trick and kb are top of the line, but seems people are having good luck with the on3 kit.

Well, took a break from snowmobiling and finally pulled the truck in today. Dad an I thought it was just intake gaskets until we pulled the valve covers off and the drivers side was milky, so we carried on the rest of the way and pulled the heads off. First time for me doing that job and it wasn't bad at all, very easy too work on compared to my duramax. Now, I have to send te heads out and hope there not cracked.
