Oh now your gonna drag me into this... I said i wasnt a fan of the truetac since you want to be able to use it off road.

It all depends on your use though. Since you want to wheel it off road you might want to consider other options. I am not sure what is available for them, I would have to look.

I'm not rock crawling with it. But if there is a nice little used road to trek when I'm camping in the middle of nowhere I'd like to know that I'm not gonna be stuck in a mud puddle or a bit of sand.

I'd still recommend the Detroit Locker.

IMO, you should be fine with a tru-trac. We have taken work vans through some crazy **** with the stock G80 and not gotten stuck. They actually do quite well with some weight in the back.
Only reason I'd shy away from the detroit is the amount of road driving you do, you would probably notice the increased tire wear.

Then again, you could toss a winch in that bumper for emergencies!

Could you grab a picture of that rear axle and the tag if there is one? All our work express vans have 10.5" FF 14's, so I'm really wondering why GM used a Dana instead of the AAM axles they use in everything else. The 70 can't be much different outside dimensions than the 11.5" AAM that is used behind the 8.1/dmax in the trucks. Hell, the 10.5" can handle serious power and weight. More than I'd feel safe with in a van.

Seeing the continual progress of this van is awesome. But whens the last time you spun a wrench on your truck?

Still getting tuned. Couple weeks ago the hood popped up on the fwy and flipped back and broke the windshield while Jake who was tuning it. Kinda waiting on getting some parts in the mail to make sure that doesn't happen again. I think it was around 17 psi but I don't know right now. Should be fun though.

Dang that sucks. Truck is going to be fun as hell when he gets done though. Can't wait to see the progress.
