Got a few presents from Summit today!!

So I ran them down to the shop and found them busy working on the truck...

We had settled on this kind of turn down, hopefully it will keep the freeway droning down to a minimum, expel most exhaust gasses out from underneath the truck and stay fairly hidden.

He was busy working on the passenger side tube but here's the drivers side header to X-pipe, pretty clean and smooth, I likey!! ...

And then, oh ****...

No going back now!!

Looks good so far, very clean looking. I know some people still feel I fucked up and did something sacrilegious by cutting holes in the bed but I have a slight glimmer of hope that it might actually turn out good. Will be hard to say until it's sitting on the ground and the body support plates are in but I think I'll have a good idea on if it was a big mistake or not tomorrow...

Well first things first, I figured something out today that had been bugging me and realized that I fucked up during the install and it has humbled me!
The front left wheel has been sticking ever since I installed the brakes and I had attributed it to having swapped around the pads on the front brakes. When I took them off the CCSB back in April I piled the brake pads in a pile not paying attention to what side of what rotor they came off of. So when I put the brakes on I just kinda threw them on the rotors not knowing what pad was grooved to what rotor and figured that was the reason why one of the wheels was sticking, because the pads weren't grooved properly...if that makes any sense.
Well anyways, upon further inspection today...turns out I have one set of pads in backwards...
It's really hard to tell in these pictures but the brake pad is facing the pistons/calipers and the metal backing plate is against the rotor...

So... .... Lesson learned, gonna swap them out tomorrow and hopefully the tire will spin freely.

Anyways, now that I have that embarrassing tale out of the way...here is a couple pics of the exhaust as it sits now.

Headers - X-pipe - and back out, wrapped the pipes right next to the tranny pan with some header wrap to give it a little bit of a heat shield...

X-pipe out to the cut-outs, missing the length of pipe that runs to the passenger side tip...was being welded up as I was taking pictures. I wanted the system to flow really efficiently when the cutouts were open (i.e. least amount of bends and angles) so came up with is design, with them open it's a straight shot out to the tips more or less, with them closed the exhaust does a 90 degree turn out and into the muffler... (let me hear your thoughts, good and bad, not too late to change it if ya'll think I designed it poorly)

When cut-outs are closed they go into the 2-1 magnaflow...

And then over the rear axle and dumped out at a 45 degree angle...

And for those of you who think what I'm doing is sacriligious...here's a little fuel to the fire!!

I also finally got my inspection cover today finally after what like a month of searching and getting the wrong ones and what not! so I hope that this is the right one...got my fingers crossed!

So that's it for now, maybe, hopefully should have it all finished and done with tomorrow and I'll have some pics for you at that time, then we can get a better idea of this is either the smartest thing I've done to this point or the dumbest!

Very nice custom crossmember and exhaust. And your friend in the yellow dress appears to have had some custom mods done as well!
