I can't believe I went 2 days without touching my truck!!
I was able to get a few things over the weekend which was cool!! On saturday I stopped by my other house to pick up my LS6 valley cover that I bought from Chris(thanks again), and on Sunday I went to a swap meet with Joseph (1FastBrick) and immediately wish I would of come to one of these sooner, before I bought half the crap that I needed and had to buy in new condition!
Amazing what kinda stuff people have and have kept for 20-30 years!
Also Joseph saved my *** and gave me some bolts that I had been missing for the accessories! I still can't believe how much stuff you have waiting to be put together!
You have a gold mine in cool ****!! Thanks again for the bolts man!!!
Well anyways, I got a few things done today which was cool!!
I got the alternator bracket bolted in with all the right bolts, then got the last of the water pump bolts in and torque'd down to spec. All that's left as far as accessories is the alternator!
Pulled off the valley cover and let my cam see the light of day one last time!!

Put the stock one and the LS6 one side by side, my hacked up one wasn't as bad as I originally thought but I'm still glad it's off and out of the way!

And on went the LS6 cover...

Finished the day with the final mock up of the fuel rails, gonna go pick up the intake bolts from Richard tomorrow and hopefully have the intake on by tomorrow night! (cross fingers)

How hard was the at home motor swap? I really dont want to drive mine for two hours and have to finish it in one day? I know I can drop my tranny, I would just have to buy a picker.
And the motor looks nice!

Pretty simple. It's a one man job with the right picker and as long as you have ceiling space it's pretty much a snap. Only thing other than a cherry picker that I would recommend are bungy chords to pull back on the heater hoses, power steering pump if still connected, A/C compressor and the wiring harness. Or else you'll find yourself fighting them sneaking back under the engine as your lowering it down.

Who me.... Lmao! That's only what you could see....
