Update:

We've got a 99% tune done, finished most of it up today. Only things that are left are any driving characteristics I want changed to suit my driving style, but she is very solid for now
Did I mention this big truck scoots!
Installed a good alternator, also installed the 3.0" pulley (LOL), let's just say I hit 10lbs of boost in a hurry!

Got some good WOT runs in today under a good deal of load, fueling was almost spot on.
Can't run around with no TQ management anymore, it's to the point where it's dangerous, I need all the traction I can get in when she shifts! DOH!

Other than that, she's got 83 miles on her, I consider Rex's motor broken in. I'll do an oil/filter tomorrow and call it good

Thanks for all the help Joe! you've been a great friend to me even though I'm a needy ****, LOL!

Thanks Mark, definitely not in the same league as yours but she'll get the job done ok I guess

BTW, I have to apologize ahead of time. The truck is in a definite state of disarray with just getting it running/put together and not having a chance to give it that one real good "once over" or finish installing all the other goodies I have for it, but at least you'll get a sneak peak, LOL, to be completed in 6 months

In case you were wondering what my take of the 112 vs 122 comparo was/is.

to me, they are completely different, but the same(oh jesus) call me crazy but gawd damn, once this 122 starts building boost it's like "RIGHT NOW", it feels like it gets from where it starts making boost to it's max boost value (I don't know how else to say it) quicker, wow! Definitely pulls harder and really seems to like being spun fast.

The 122 is very easy to drive in the lower rpm type stuff much like the 112 but make sure those wheels are planted because she gets going in a hurry and make no mistake those tires will break loose.

Does the 122 take a bit more rpms to come into boost?

I've been trying to put my finger on it,.........I will say yes it does if only slightly.

I know how I want to say it:
"yes, it takes more pedal to get it to start making boost but once it does it makes boost faster!"
make sense?
I'm not sure what that equals in rpm, certainly not alot, but enough that I noticed.

initially, I'd have to say yes, at least until I re-calibrate my right foot appropriately

Great job Grippy. Donno if you can get up to the shop on friday, but we'll have a small powow when Mark and Dave stop by. Love to see your truck in my parking lot! Be a nice break in too!

It's nice to see you articulate how the 122 is different from the 112 in rolling pedal response.

Be sure to cut open the oil filter and look for debris. Always a good idea on top notch engine build.

Richard
