Are you sure about the internal X on the 12469? The Summit description reads: "They feature a large-diameter, perforated stainless steel core and a straight-through design for unrestricted flow."

Yes, I'm positive about the 12469. I ordered it thinking it would be the same. In fact, I told Summit about the internal X and that their website language states otherwise and that they may want to add internal X in the description. The guy I talked to didn't seem interested in the least

I'm glad to see that you took a practical approach toward resolving your muffler issue. If I were in your position now, with the sand in the hour glass drizzling down until your next deployment, I'd really be pushing to finish this project. That way, you'll get to have some fun with it (and do some other things) before you have to leave. The things that don't fully meet your standards can be re-done at a later time.
