Preston129/BlkSlvrdo129 Build thread - TVS1900, EPS cam and more

I'll get some pics up tomorrow morning. Already got the grille and headlight out, and disconnected the fog lights. Tomorrow I'll unbolt the whole bumper assembly and bring it to the bodyshop. Hopefully get everything back next week but with the humidity we're having, they might not want to paint or they'll paint and want to leave it to cure longer. If not for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all it seems!

Thanks for the support guys, I brought the bumper to the bodyshop on thursday but the manager I always deal with was away till monday, so I just talked with a friend who does paint/bodywork about what can be saved, what needs replacing.
I'm gonna change up a couple things on the front, nothing major. I may price an HD front end, but I wish I could still use the 1500 hood and grille, because the bumper is my favorite part of the '11 HD swap.
Sorry it took this long to post, but here's some pics:

This is the tab that broke off:

Luckily no bulbs broke at least:

Couple small things while I wait for the front end to be repaired:
Finally got around to replacing the antenna with the shorty one from a member on gmfs. It's easy to remove the stock one without damaging it with a rag and a crescent wrench:

And installed:

Also picked up the shorter oil fill tube from an LS3 Camaro. Part number listed beside it:

Unfortunately, cross breeding parts doesn't work. On the 5.3 valve cover, the tab is at the 6 o'clock position if you're looking at it from the passenger side, and the problem this creates is that you have two options for the new LS3 fill neck to be positioned when you install it; 9 o'clock or 3 o'clock. So that's useless to me, so I just installed it loosely for the time being at about the 12 o'clock position, and if it happens to work itself loose I'll just go back to having the cap right in the valve cover.

And lastly, I put this on a couple weeks back. It's small and subtle and I've always liked the look of it:

Thanks, and you're right, it could have been a lot worse. This is annoying and expensive, but luckily nothing structural or any part of the engine or cooling were damaged, so it'll drive just like it did before. I get to do a couple changes to the front end too while I'm at it so it's not a total loss.

Since progress is stagnating while I wait for the body shop, and I want to free up some space and get some money back in my pocket, I'm going to post up some items for sale. I'll probably start a formal thread in the classified section, but until then here's a run down of the parts I have. I'll add to this list if I run into some other things I find that I'm not gonna use. Everything is brand new unless otherwise stated:
- EPS cam for N/A
219/227, .595/.598, 113+3
45° of overlap, so it will cut up nicely on a ~750 RPM idle.

- Comp valvetrain parts for beehive springs:
Tool steel retainers: These are almost as light as Ti but cost less than half as much
Valve locks
Shim kit

- Comp Hi-Tech 7.350" hardened pushrods:

- GM MLS head gaskets: these will fit LS1/LS6 and gen III/IV truck engines (4.8, 5.3):

- ARP head bolt kit and cam retainer bolt kit:

- 2x 1500 grilles: If anyone wants to take a stab at fixing the 41u colormatched grille seen above, I have the metal retainer clip that broke off. I also have the stock chrome one with a billet bowtie emblem:

- Single bolt cam gear for Gen IV engines. I've also got the AFM parts if someone wants to save a ton of money on fuel economy
Also come to think of it, I have the stock spindles and rear blocks if someone wants them.

- Exhaust parts:
Gibson shorty headers;
factory Y-pipe (cut)
Cat back exhaust for 07-08 MY-GMT900 crew cabs (can easily be adapted to fit '09+ as well as RC and EC layouts). All hangers and clamps included. 2 years and maybe 1000 miles worth of use so it's practically new, don't let the surface oxidation fool you:

Been a long time since I posted, and I've been waiting for some semi-decent weather to take some pics of the new front end, and luckily Irene didn't quite make it up here so here she is. Also had a little fun in a parking garage yesterday
