Petro's Project ERL Superdeck 427 w/ Whipple 2.9L
#421
For what it's worth:
I sent my Whipple to Ramon (Ray) Lichtenberg of SuperStreet Performance/RDS/Aberdeen AutoBody out of Ham Lake, Minnesota back in the middle of February. He was supposed to design and make a blower spacer plate for me. It was agreed that it would be a month or two before he finished it up. Fast forward to May and he's not answering my phone calls or returning any voicemails or messages on FB (personal and business pages). June same thing and then July 24th rolls around and I contact the local PD over the phone to ask for their help. They go over and check on it for me (very grateful for that) and they put eyes on it for me. He assures me that he'll ship it back to me completed in a week to two weeks. The ****** then deletes his business FB page and blocks me on his personal page. So woke up Sunday morning and drove the 1,022miles (15hr one way) trip up there and stayed in a hotel overnight. I woke up Monday morning and went to his business unannounced to get my supercharger back. He wasn't at work (his business mind you) and my supercharger was basically untouched (thankfully). The receptionist helped me get my stuff and showed me a small piece he had made for the bypass valve portion. It took him 6months to design and make that tiny little piece?!?! Anyways the guy had good reviews back in February when I had shipped it and in April and May he got 2 horrible very detailed reviews from 2 different guys where there **** had been held hostage for over a year! So I'm out the $90 I paid to ship the damn thing in the first place along with the $316 for gas/hotel to go there and back to get my **** and have nothing to show for it except that I got my supercharger back. Just a FYI for everyone.

I was hoping you would update that you indeed broke his fingers, but either way glad you got it back! Too bad he wasnt there to explain in person what the problem was.

I had concerns about the phenolic material anyways. Read about it chipping/cracking/delaminating etc. I'm gonna see if Bruce Wayne over at AFP can design and make one with aluminum.
Progress has halted because the air compressor eating itself, needing new tires on the DD, and because I hate sweating my *** off trying to line body panels up.

Since I can't leave well enough alone I got interested in wet flow, swirl/tumble, quench, piston crown and flame front etc etc. I've already been messing around with the transition from I take manifold to head , intake runner texture/surface finish, piston crown dimpling, chamber surface finish/texture/dimples.
Looking at the very similar setups with the same style chambers, piston crowns etc it looks like all of them run much leaner on the intake valve side. After reading I figured I'd try give some more voodoo a try. In the effort to gain a better mixture quality within the chamber I plan to dimple/texture areas on the piston crown, parts of the combustion chamber, and certain areas of the intake runner.
Just a pic of making a guess at where and how many dimples to place on the crown
